Long Reining and Lunging
Creating a good mouth in a horse is one of our main priorities and through lunging and long reining we are able to teach a horse to turn correctly, to stop smoothly and to back up without resistance. The emphasis is on keeping the young horse’s mouth soft and responsive so that when the horse is eventually ridden, he can be directed through his first ridden steps without trauma.
When used correctly, long reining and lunging is also an excellent tool for restarting older horses that have become difficult under saddle.
