Handling Feet, Hoof Trimming & Shoeing
Generally, farriers don’t have the time to school horses for shoeing and, although it’s reasonable for us to expect a farrier to be polite and kind with our horses, we must do our bit to ensure our horse is sufficiently schooled before the farrier arrives. A little bit of time spent handling our horse’s feet and familiarising them with the farriery tools saves a lot of trouble for everyone involved in the future.
